Aerie Faerie Nonsense
This is the long lost original 1978 EMI version of Aerie Faerie Nonsense, previously only released on vinyl. Converted to digital at Abbey Road by Christian Curtis, this digitally re-mastered album bridges the gap between rock and classical. Famous pieces from composer Robert John Godfrey include the timeless classic 'Fand' (parts I and II), and 'Childe Roland'. All re-mastering was executed by The Enid's very own Max Read, whose expertise in engineering and in depth understanding of The Enid sound brings a new lease of life to the album. Tommy Vance declared ""Robert John Godfrey is to my mind one of the greatest composers this country has ever had..."" after playing Fand on Radio 1's Friday Rock Show. Following the initial success of Aerie Faerie Nonsense back in 1978, The Enid continued to produce other great works, such as Something Wicked This Way Comes and The Spell. Four decades later the band is still going strong, maintaining a cult following, and continuing to fill large venues such as Birmingham Symphony Hall, hailed to be one of the greatest concert venues in the world. In 2010 their album Journey's End saw the group re-launch with a new generation of musicianship. Considered a masterpiece by fans old and new, it marked the start of a new era for The Enid, as the first in a trilogy of albums. The band's follow up studio album 'Invicta' was released in November 2012, receiving critical acclaim with Bloomberg Magazines Mark Beech describing it as a ""Late blooming beauty.
