Getting Started: How Lightroom 4 works with a catalog and nondestructive editing; organizing your photos, moving and backing up your photo library, setting preferences.
Library: Manage screen space, set view options, import photos, manage files and folders, rate, flag and keyword, add metadata, find files, create collections. Advantages of converting to DNG. Use Publish Services to share on Facebook and Flickr, email from Lightroom, export jpeg and other copies. Play, trim and develop videos, capture jpegs of individual frames.
Map: Assign GPS location by dragging, using a smart-phone tracklog, or companion camera phone; preview and select photos based on location. Assign country, city and state with reverse geocoding. Use saved locations and filtering.
Develop: After an overview and a lesson on the histogram, learn to use the tools and techniques available in a solid workflow. Crop, spot removal, and red eye tools; basic panel, tone curve, HSL, black and whites, split toning, effects, lens corrections, sharpening and noise reduction; virtual copies, presets, history, snapshots. Make local changes with the adjustment brush and graduated filter. Sync changes across photos. Soft proof your work. Integrate Photoshop or Elements into your LR workflow.
