AWSoeasy: Amazon Web Services Unofficial User Guide
This book is for anyone who is new to AWS but comfortable at the Linux command line and familiar with basic networking concepts. The focus of this book is on Linux over Windows, MySQL over SQL Server and Oracle. This book does not discuss or introduce concepts or services in depth. It's assumed you are already familiar with basic AWS services and/or can refer to the documentation where necessary.
Attempting to fit everything about AWS into one book would be like trying to fit an ocean into a bucket. I tried to focus on material not already covered in AWS documentation and online blogs. The focus is more on practical examples. I used ‘Amazon Linux’ EC2 instances unless otherwise stated . I tried to format the text small to allow code to be displayed as neatly as possible. Enlarge text as required in your e-reader. Some of the diagrams, particularly in the VPC section, are best viewed in ‘landscape’ mode rather than ‘portrait’. Much of the material covered in the book is also demonstrated on my youtube channel ‘AWSoeasy’ (now renamed 'Ora Tube').
I worked in AWS Support from 2012 to 2015. When not at the computer, I enjoy mountain running and reading my Kindle... though not at the same time.
