The latest edition of this popular series featuring The Benny Goodman Orchestra which documents the complete series of radio programs broadcast during the latter part of the 1940s. This CD, Volume Sixteen, includes as guests: Shirley Ross, a talented singer and actress though perhaps underused by the studios that employed her (MGM and Paramount). She is perhaps best remembered for her work with Bing Crosby and Bob Hope. Duetting with Bob Hope she introduced the song that was to become his theme song, Thanks For The Memory. Arthur Treacher, our second guest, was an English born actor who moved to America. His aristocratic accent made him a natural to play butler types and he featured alongside Shirley Temple in four of her films, he also played the role of Jeeves in two Jeeves And Wooster films as well as numerous other parts. As usual the whole package is held together by popular comedian Victor Borge.
