A Cart for Carl: Caring for a Paralyzed Dog

January 24th 2010 I found myself sitting in the general aviation area at my local airport, waiting for a volunteer pilot to deliver Carl, a paralyzed Labrador I was adopting. Little did I know how much my life was about to change.

That first month I often wondered what I had done, not convinced that I would be able to cope. Thanks to the support of owners of other disabled dogs I gradually adapted and learned the ins and outs of caring for, and living with, a paralyzed dog

I wrote this book as a quick start guide, an introduction to caring for a paralyzed dog based on my experiences with Carl, helping others to prepare for those first few weeks, providing a list of useful resources as they start their new journey.
