3M Speedglas Steel Eyes Welding Helmet 100, with 100V Speedglas Auto Darkening Filter, Shades 8-12
3M Speedglas Steel Eyes Welding Helmet 100 with Auto Darkening Filter 100V helps provide eye and face protection for worker safety while welding. The helmet comes ready to use with a lens offering three sensitivity settings: 1) Normal for most types of welding both indoors and outdoors, 2) A setting for when other welders are working nearby, and 3) A setting for low-current or stable arc welding. This welding helmet features graphics specifically designed to appeal to women welders. Inspired by women welders, the 3M design team created a look that serves as an avenue for personal expression.
The Speedglas 100V lens also features five user-selectable dark shades, from shade 8 through shade 12, and a light shade of 3. The auto darkening filter quickly darkens after striking an arc to maintain optimal viewing. The auto darkening filter also reduces the need to flip the viewing lid, which can be stressful on the neck and a distraction while welding. The viewing area provides a field of view that allows the welder to see the work in progress with minimal obstruction. Designed with graphics to appeal to women welders, this helmet projects inner strength with focused eyes looking through a blaze of lilac flames. Recommended welding applications include metal fabrication, assembly, mechanical, and metal repair.
This fully assembled welding helmet with ADF (Auto Darkening Filter) offers sensitivity adjustments for use with most Stick (arc welding), MIG (Metal Inert Gas), and TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) welding applications. The welding helmet uses an auto darkening filter that can be adjusted for different shades based on the welding amperage. The viewing area measures 1.73-inches high x 3.66-inches wide and has excellent optical quality.
Welding helmets help protect the eyes and face in numerous ways. The helmet blocks welding sparks and spatter from reaching the eyes and face. The helmet also protects the eyes from exceptionally bright light and rapid changes in brightness, which can stress and harm eyes. Without protection, eyes can be temporarily or permanently injured by the intensity of light produced by welding. Eyes also have difficulty adjusting to rapid brightness changes while welding in dark locations, which can be a productivity and safety issue.
The helmet€s design allows for compatibility with select disposable welding respirators €" including the 3M 8515, 8212, 8214, 8512, and 8514 Particulate Welding Respirators €" to help provide respiratory protection for applications where metal fumes may be present.
