24" Flatmaster Drum Sander

Ever since we introduced this sander to the market over 10 years ago it has been a favorite among cabinet makers, luthiers, segmented bowl turners, high school shops or just for the average hobbyist. The Flatmaster is designed to do just what it's name hints, sand something flat. The key is the set-up. The Flatmaster drum is actually set up BELOW the table, allowing for the hook and loop paper to lift off the drum and create an air gap between the drum and paper. This air gap prevents heat and static, substantially lengthening the life of your sandpaper. Traditional drum sanders sand from the top down, dropping sawdust onto the piece and "re-grinding" it, creating heat and loading the sandpaper. This sander sands from the bottom up, allowing the dust to fall down into the box and out of the way of the sander. No re-grinding sawdust, loading the paper or creating heat, saving your sandpaper and therefore saving you money. This sander comes fully assembled in a sturdy metal box with a commercial duty steel top. Pulley, Belt, instructional dvd, and 2 rolls of sandpaper are included. Motor and electrical components are NOT included.
