(1874-1944) Rose Cecil OÕNeill (Wilson) was born in Wilkesbarre, Pennsylvania and is best known as the originator of the Kewpie DollÑwhich were designed after her whimsical drawings of KewpiesÑsweet little babyÃlike creatures who had any number of adorable adventures. A self-trained artist, OÕNeillÕs work appeared in LadiesÕ Home Journal, Good Housekeeping, Puck, Truth, Life, McClureÕs, and HarperÕs.
