1903 Edwardian Era Trumpet Skirt Pattern

Sewing Pattern - 1903 Edwardian Era Trumpet Skirt Pattern. Multisized 20-46" Waist. Sometimes known as a Trumpet Skirt, this is a 7 gore flared hem skirt. This style of skirt was very popular from 1899 to about 1905. The early years start as very slim below the hip, but the skirts get fuller for 1903 and later. This skirt is particularly suited to the years 1902-1905. It is fitted over the hip, moderately slim to a little above the knee, and then flares out dramatically to the hem. The back can be fitted in habit style with a 6" sweep, or in round length with a box pleat. The closure is in the center back. It has a separate skirt lining, or foundation skirt, with a ruffle at the hem to help support the flare. Goes well with TVE01 Edwardian Corset Pattern and TVE41 Edwardian Blouse. Yardage for skirt: 44/45" 5 1/2 yards - all sizes, 60" 4 1/2 yards. Lining 6 1/2 yards 44/45" fabric - all sizes. Notions: Skirt/pant hooks for waistband, hook and eye closures for placket, 5½ yards 2-3" wide hem facing (can use Wrights Hem Facing or Quilt Binding, or make your own), 5½ yards 2-3" wide hem stiffener (can use horsehair braid or make bias stips of canvas, cambric or flannel.)
