18th Century War Axe
A beautiful example of the blacksmiths art, a faithful replica of an 18th Century axe that could have been used for household purposes, but the attention given to the head design leads us to believe it was constructed for more deathly chores. The head is lighter than most with the socket and 4 bar construction, but still strong for fast effective blows and the hammer poll on the other end made short work of armor. A wolf in sheep's clothing, it looks fairly innocent and utilitarian, but transformed in the right hands to an efficient battle axe. A great deal of thought went into this design and we're proud to offer it. Solid wood handle with carbon steel head and butt plate. Made by Windlass Steelcrafts®.
