- Shamisen & Sanshin Craft - ASOVIVA New Wood Sanshin Minsaa / Kasuri (Brown)
Since its launch in 2005, Asoviva's Wood Sanshin has enjoyed much success due to its moderate price and abundant choice of designs for the body. The body of the New Wood Sanshin is made from wood, while other types of sanshin's body is covered with genuine or artificial snakeskin. For this reason, the New Wood Sanshin has a lower volume (about half the volume level of traditional sanshin). In order to increase the volume and enhance the sound, the back side of New Wood Sanshin's body is left uncovered.
- Utaguchi (nut) is made using buffalo bone providing greater durability.
- Neck is made using a single piece of Apitong wood in a style known as kuba-nu-funi, characterized by its beautiful slim silhouette.
- The weight of the sanshin is 1.76lb, which allows you to carry your sanshin as easily as an ukulele.
Style: Kuba-nu-funi
Material: Neck: Apitong / Body: Processed wood
<6 reasons to buy an Asoviva Sanshin>
1. We provide labels for the neck of your sanshin indicating correct finger positions, making life easier for the beginners.
2. We make sure your sanshin is correctly pre-tuned and ready to play out of the box.
3. We provide a label to indicate the correct position for the uma, ensuring correct pitch.
4. We pre-stretch our strings five times when we receive them, and five times again before fitting them to your sanshin. This ensures your tone will remain stable longer.
5. We only use handcrafted wooden tuning pegs (karakui) made specifically for your sanshin in order to ensure a perfect fit.
6. We care about quality: We take great care to make sure each part of your sanshin meets a high standard, regardless of cost. Each sanshin is checked for both quality of tone, and for quality of craftsmanship prior to delivery.
